well you have 2 options. A) you can start you own herb garden which has its benefits due to the wonderful aromas, or B) you can go to the market and buy you herbs. Option B might be more convienient if you need them right away, but if you don't use them right away they will turn on you very fast. Now if you grow your own you only cut what you need and there is no waste.

Depends what you want, but most can be easily grown on the windowsill if you have one, you can by them in supermarkets or you can use dried.

If you buy fresh cut herbs bring them home. Put them in a plastic bag with a tiny bit of water and then blow some air into the bag and tie up tightly. Keep for longer that way.
