Start a charity. get people to give money. Make sure the money goes to help thechildren.

The best thing for anyone is Hope. I've been in youth ministries for 15 years and have found that the most awesome decisions are the ones kids make for themselves based on their faith.
Believing in Christ gives a kid a new direction, new life, new hope, and lots of possibilities for their future based on Biblical promises.
Youth groups can also create a counterculture that is positive and supportive and can also develop networks that meet real needs. Having grown up lost and on the streets, chased by gangs, and suicidal I personally found out that the love of Jesus was the greatest thing to find in all the darkness and hopelessness.

My wife, as well as myself, both came from abusive households, it's kind of how we met, I noticed that she did'nt spend much time at home either, we are now married with a 4 yr old boy, and a child on the way, it's kinda funny ya know, most say that abused children become the abusers, there is NO hitting allowed in THIS HOUSE !

Make sure YOU never abuse anyone.
Report any abuse you discover (but don't look for it where it isn't)
Give to charities involved in opposing abuse.
Volunteer to work with a local group.
