Try this recipe:
Chocolate Fridge Cake w Pecan and Meringues Jamie Oliver
Serves 16
200g digestive biscuits
• 110g whole pecans, roughly chopped
• 110g pistachio nuts, peeled
• 10 glace cherries
• 2 ready-made meringue nests
• 150g unsalted butter
• 1 tablespoon golden syrup
• 200g dark chocolate
This chocolate cake is wicked! And even better, you don't need to do any baking.
Break the biscuits into small pieces directly into a large bowl. Add the pecans, pistachio nuts and cherries and mix together. Put the rest of the ingredients into a separate, heatproof bowl and put on a low heat over a pan of simmering water until the butter and chocolate have melted.
Combine the biscuit mix with the chocolate mixture. Line a 30 x 20 cm plastic container with clingfilm, leaving plenty of extra film at the edges to help turn the cake out later. Whack everything into the container, place in the fridge to firm up then turn out and cut into chunky slices.
This cake can be kept in an airtight container for a few days, and it actually improves in flavour!

You could do parfaits? This is like a fancy layered ice cream sundae. Serve them in a parfait cup, if you don't have that, try a wine glass.
What you do is get some basic baked goods, like pound cake, short cake, or brownies, from the store. Make or buy...as well as some ice cream, whip cream in a can, and some strawberries or raspberries...and if you want a garnish, you can try mint leaves.
You make these on the spot, maybe you and your BF excuse yourself from the table and whip them out really fast.
You start with a chunk of cake, then layer a small scoop of ice cream, then berries, then cake, then ice cream, then berries etc till you reach the top and garnish with a fancy swoop of whipped cream and a single sliced berry tucked onto the rim of the glass. Do them assembly line with both helping, and it should go faster. Don't worry about the ice cream melting a little bit, this is why the cake is underneath it, to soak it up.
It should look very elegant but also a very little bit sloppy in the glass because it has layers that are starting to run together.
Serve with long spoons to reach into the glass.
If you don't want to do this, or don't have the spoons or the glasses to do it right, the presentation will be off. Part of having a parfait is seeing it layered in it's glass. You can do the same thing with a little more variety, and less fussy items, and serve a buffet of ice cream items where they make their own ice cream sundae. Serve in bowls with soup spoons.
You can also do a fancy coffee drink or hot chocolate...with or without booze.
You can also do a fruit tray on a nice platter with toothpicks. Serve on dessert plates, or pretty paper plates. If you do this, there are lots of ways to present it: I would go with 5-7 different fruits. You can do a nice variety of all kinds of fruit, different colors. An example would be grapes (snip apart until there are 4-5 on a piece of vine) banana halves in the peel, orange slices, apple wedges, whole strawberries with the hull removed (so, topless), watermelon in small wedges, or leave the top on...etc OR you can do various types of a single fruit, like all citrus, or all melon, or all apples, or all grapes and berries, etc.
You can do one inch chunks of store bought brownies, pound cake, bananas, whole strawberries, whole oreos, etc and then do a fondue, or a variety of dips and sauces. Serve this in something like a salsa platter, with bowls in the middle for dipping, and fan out the fruit and cake pieces all around the outside, each on a toothpick.
All these ideas, and still nothing comes close to a plate of huge chocolate chip cookies. You can buy them from the bakery at the store, and then nuke them just before you serve so they are gooey.

a simple elegant chocolate mouse. there's not alot of ingredients, it's easy, and can be dressed up or down.
how bout this:
Chocolate Love Bomb
For Mousse:
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled
1 egg
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup heavy cream
For crust:
6 tablespoons butter
10 chocolate chip cookies
Chocolate shavings, for garnish
In a food processor, combine chocolate, egg, and vanilla. In a small pot, heat the cream to a slow boil, then slowly add the heated cream to the chocolate mixture: careful not to break the mix. Transfer this to a container and refrigerate for 1 to 3 hours.
In a small pan heat 3 tablespoons of butter. Pulse the cookies in a food processor for about 20 seconds and add 1 tablespoon of the solid butter at a time. Slowly add the melted butter until the crust becomes shiny and easy to work with. Line 1 (6-ounce) cup with plastic wrap and begin forming your crust in the cup about 1/2-inch thick.
Refrigerate for 10 minutes. Begin filling with the mouse until it is up to the edge of the crust. Refrigerate for 1 hour and invert onto a dish. Remove plastic and serve with chocolate shavings.

Cheesecake rocks. You can prepare it ahead of time, even buy one of those box mixes, put it in the fridge, and everyone LOVES it. I have yet to meet a person who does not like cheesecake. I rarely eat dessert but I usually have to have a tiny slice if I am at someone's house who is serving cheesecake.
Dessert is overrated (to me), anyway. Melt some chocolate and serve strawberries with it. Or a chilled mandarian orange/cottage cheese salad. Buy some biscotti and serve with good coffee.

Easy and beautiful and light. Purchase an angel food cake. Take a can of cherry or blueberry prepared pie filling and drizzlle it on the top of the cake allowing some of it to run down the sides a little.

Gee, you abbreviate all the words in your note, so I would assume that your dessert would be abbreviated too. It's a lot more fun to invest your time to make something special, but if time isn't what you have, fresh fruit is always nice, or fruit slices with some kind of dip.
