My boyfriend and I aren't really working out. We've been together 4 years and there's been great times but there's also been terrible times. I believe in making things work if you want them too but recently it just isn't working and I finally see that I'm probably better off without him.

But, how do you get over someone you have spent so much time with, and got to know not only him but his family and care about them all?

My biggest fear is seeing or knowing he's with someone else..I should want him to be happy but I'd be very jealous and heartbroken, and it doesn't seem like he'd care if we break up, and he wouldn't care if I was with someone else.

How can I move on and get over him AND not be soo jealous?

Depends on if you're male or female. Men get over it in about 3 days, but for the women it takes 1 to 2 years.

The longer you're with the guy, the more difficult it'll be to move on. It's true. But when you made your choice, you just have to stick to it. You still feel jealous or scared that you will is because you still care about him. It's important to keep in mind that you guys can't be in a relationship not because you don't lik him but rather it's because things are not working out before you too. the only say i'll say that in order to move on, stop thinking about him, distant yourself from things that will remind you of him, the sweetest thing that happen between you too and the most memorable things that happened. That'll be the only way to feel less attached and less caring to him and that's the only way you can go on... It just takes time and courage as well as you have to learn yourself to let go and tell yourself that everything will be fine afterward. Best Luck!

You get over him by realizing that you can do better and that people do grow apart after a while if they aren't meant to be together for the rest of their lives. You can still talk to the family and you visit them because me and my boyfriend of three years broke up. And we talk now but it was better for me to realize that I can't make something work that god didn't intend on it lasting and always remember everything happens for a reason and good things come to those who wait it's only a matter of time before you meet the one for you.

Well, I have been told that for every year you are with someone it takes a year to get over them comletely. So in about four years you will totally be over the guy. But I have good news now. It gets easier everyday. Maybe in four years he will be a distant memory, but in a couple of months you will be feeling like dating again and seeing what other fishes are out there.

Think of the way you will feel when the same love is given back to you to help you move on. You will find that if you leave your situation.
