I would like to get my tonsils out because they have holes in them. Last night my birth control pill got stuck in the hole and it is still stuck!! I cannot get it out...I tried everything. I think it is finally dissolving. But what a hassle!
I know doctors do not usually take tonsils out anymore. My brother got his out 10 years ago because his tonsils had holes in them.
Thanks

How odd. I had my tonsils out when I was 30 because I had an infection that ordinary antibiotics could not cure. You might want to see if there is a less drastic solution to your problem--a stitch to close the hole or something. Getting my tonsils out was incredibly painful and a fairly slow recovery. I lived from pain pill to pain pill for two weeks. Ultimately I'm happy to have them out, but it was not easy.

They have recently found that people with tonsils are less likely to get polio. So they like to leave them in.
