I believe the correct way would be something like ought to. I ought to do something about...

You can use "got to," but it just doesn't flow well. It almost seems like you want to say gotta, which is fine with me, but might not do so well if you want to write a text book. Personally, you should use every possible combination of words you want to use.

Just avoid eliminating a bunch for a random reason. I mean, you can use, I HAVE TO do something with Tina. And, we GOT TO go to the store before we go. Yet, I OUGHT TO call her to make sure we are still going as planned.

And, avoid using the internet as a basis of communication. There is a serious lack of grammer which wont do you much good, if you are getting graded for your efforts.

Have to conotates a need to, whereas got to conotates a command or demand to.

Kinda...

'I have to be home by 12 or Mum will have a conniption.'

'I've got to be home.....'

But NOT 'I got to be home...'

I think it's:

have to = have got to

No because:

Have to = I really, really should.

Got To = I really, really MUST

Either way, though, we usually don't.
