not, because we have over 20 local cuisines, we also have a lot of grilled/poached/fried stuff. in fact one way of cooking in the desert still involves burying a vessel with meat and vegetables along with spices and water to make a stew by evening. curry is just something westerners took to so it got popular... every state in india has a totally different cuisine with different vegetables and fruits. i am 30 years old and I am yet to try some of the foods india has to offer.

no, not all dishes use curry. that is a common misconception.

there are however various types of curry. the three most common are red, green, and yellow. there also different varients of heat level than can be adapted. also, there are curry dishes with coconut milk, and curry dishes without. curry is not one specific thing, it is a blend of different spices.
