This is sure that every one has to pass away at his fixed time.
Allah almighty confirmed in Chapter An-nasr, that the Mission of Muhammad (pbuh) was nicely completed, and the people start converting to Islam, like contingents of army and also on the last Hajj Allah revealed the verses "Inni akmaltukum deenu kum.... that the religion Islam got certificate from almighty Allah as a complete religion.
If he died on completion of his mission, so it's OK as everyone has to go. Inna lillahi wa inna a'alaehi raaji'oon.
Alla inna Auliya Allahi la khaufun a'alaehim wa la hum yahzanoon.

Yes muslims usually celebrated the birthday of Muhammad pbuh prophet. because he has so many good actions for his followers We should remind ourselves with the good example of living of Muhammad pbuh.He has given us the best and greatest inheritance This year we will celebrate it on March 31,2007
.Muslims do not celebrate or grief on the passed away date of Muhammad pbuh prophet because muslims are optimistic
and Allah the only one God suggested muslims to be not so grief or sad.Allah gives us for sadness only for 3 days and we should be calm and patient and do not cry loudly.Crying loudly will invite satans. They are our biggest enemies. We should conquere satans.

We shall not feel sad for our beloved ones when they pass away.. they go to meet their creator.. and what a wonderful meeting!
besides, Muslims are ordered to avoid grief and extreme sadness as it's a gate to the devil.
Iman Ihsan; You're wrong, according to the Prophet he said about the Non Arabs, Non Muslims "O Allah, whenever they make a good thing, I'll adopt it".. Celebrating a Birthday is a good thing, you meet people and exchange gifts "like orderd by Muhammad PBUH", celebrating birthdays is good and I'll take it, and if you're not going to take anything from the west, please leave the computer you are using now.
I can safely assume that my love to Mohammad might be more than Omar and Ali.. they Saw him, They saw signs of Jibril, They saw him cure people, I didn't, I believed in him without seeing him...

First of all, true muslims never celebrate birth days of anyone. In Islam, birth and death is of no importance, because it is Allah, who has created us. What is important is to be a pious Muslim, to do good deeds and refrain from the bad things. The Quran and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.).
Since celebrating birthdays is a western tradition, u will see most of the Muslims celebrate their loved ones and Prophet Muhammad's (P.B.U.H.) birhtday. But they don't realise that in the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad, his companions would have celebrated his birth day with great love and affection and we cannot compare their love for the Prophet with ours.
So, Islam forbiddens celebrating birth days. If it was allowed, then we would have also celebrated his companions birth days also.
To conclude, what Mr. Goerge Bernard Shaw has said: "The best religion is Islam, but Muslims are its worst followers".

Firstly, the practice of celebrating his birthday, peace be upon him, was not done by himself, nor his companions. If there was good in it, his companions would have preceded us in practicing it. They are the best of people, and no one will be able to outdo them with an innovation. Rather innovations are abhorrable in Islam, and no doubt, this practice is from amongst them.
As for those who say 'you must celebrate the Prophet's birthday, peace be upon him, to show love for him', Then Allah Himself refutes this notion in His book:
Say (O Muhammad SAW to mankind): "If you (really) love Allâh then follow me (i.e. accept Islâmic Monotheism, follow the Qur'ân and the Sunnah), Allâh will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Aali Imran 3:31)
So the one who states their love for Allah, and then follows it up with an act of worship not legislated by Allah, then he has not acheived his goal in attaining Allah's love. Because the Lord of the Worlds made it a condition for all mankind to follow the Prophet, peace be upon him to recieve love, mercy and forgiveness. Likewise, the opposite of that is also true, whoever does NOT follow the Prophet Peace be upon Him, does NOT receive the love, mercy, and forgiveness of Allah.
So now we have many religions all over the world, all claiming to love the Creator of the world. The Hindu, Buddist, Christian, and other than them make various acts of worship for their 'love' of God. All of these acts of worship baseless, and in the end will be fruitless. The same goes for the Muslim who claims his love for Allah, and then follows it up with various unlegislated acts of worship, whether that be celebrating the Prophet's birthday, or other than that.
Then there are those who say that this is a "bid'a hasana" (good innovation). Firstly, the statement in itself is rejected, simply because it contradicts the Sharia. Not to mention the famous statement of the Prophet peace be upon him, when he said, 'every innovation is astray, and everything astray is in the hellfire'. So anyone who says this MUST say one of two things ; either the Prophet contradicted himself, or you are contradicting the Prophet. And anyone who says the first of the two is not Muslim.
There's much more to this issue, but that's all for now
