It's mostly in the upper left leg around the middle . I haven't done any major exercising that would cause this. The twiching is in a rather small area and happens in rapid succesion, pause a bit, and returns. Any advice on how to stop it or if it's major enough to see a doctor?

This is very common in everybody. Don't think too much of it, unless it is happening chronically. Then you should see a doctor.

You really can't stop it (from what I know) and if it bothers you a LOT, then maybe you should see a doctor.

Heh, my calf just twitched just now.

It's possible you are experiencing Fasciculations- which is involuntary twisting or twitching of muscles, like a spasm. This is generally painless and feels like an air bubble is passing through muscles. Sometimes, you can actually see your muscles move. If you are suffering from this condition- relax. I emphasize- RELAX. It's nothing to worry about and is usually caused when you are very tired or stressed and have not had the rest that your body demands, over a prolonged period. The only way to rid these is to relax completely and they'll vanish without a trace.

If the spasm you feel is painful and you dont know of any injury or have not engaged in sports or activities...I suggest you take a good look at your footwear. Did this condition start after you began wearing new shoes??? If so, then there is something wrong with the "balance" of the footwear and you need to go for a new pair.

Sleeping in the wrong position, during which your leg might have twisted involuntarily- can also cause such a condition.

It's pretty common to have spasms like that every now and then. Unless you get it 24/7.
