What happens if the reason that he fell out of love with you because you weren't yourself or the person he did fall in love with in the first place. I wasn't myself for the last year (we were living together this year) of a 3 year relationship because of me being scared of losing him. I did extreme measures to make him happy, like being available to him all the time, letting him do what he wants avoiding any serious conflict (basicly losing my independence and identity). The reason why i did this was because he had committment issues in the past with me which made me think that if did everything to make him happy i won't lose him, but then he dumps me teliing me that he wasn't happy in the last couple of months and doesn't feel the same way by doesn't know why. I still love him and I regret in what I have done (in my case in losing myself first and then second, losing him)

it's been 3 months ever since we broke up, i have not made any contact with him, I have boosted my self esteem and independence, i travelled arond europe I moved in with my best girlfriend, started a new job, and i started dating, i feel happy about myself, but i still love him, these feelings haven't changed. Within these three months I have realised that I don't NEED him in my life to be happy, so I have become more independant and more confident, but I still desire him, I want him, is that so wrong.

Good for you in seeing you don't NEED him. We all have regrets. If this is a relationship you think could be worth trying again, be yourself! If there is a chance and he misses the real you, then you could try, just remember you are a new real you!

Consider if it is really worth it or if you are just ready to start dating again.

Tough one, but you have done yourself justice in getting back to you.

So, you're saying you just let him walk all over your face. I can see why some jack *** might be attracted to someone like you.
I don't think you can just be nice all the time and expect someone to magically fall in love with you.

He didn't have commitment issues. He was taking advatage of you being so gullible.

I'm sure Dr. Phil would say something like love is two way street. You can't have just one person give and give while the partner just sit and expect the whole thing to work out.

You cared about his 'problems', but what did he do for you or the relationship?

from experience i am in the same sistuation as you and its been over 5 months and im still not over him
but he never would have left you if he was the one for you
take some time off from guys and heal
it will get easier as time passes im sure
but just dont get into another relationship too fast because then you will carry the old one with you and that starts problems fast
if you need someone to talk to you can talk to me as i am feeling the same way you are
i hope things get easier for you

i think if u feel really strongly about him u should try approaching him maybe as a friend first and see where that takes u.because ifur life is as stable as u say u might discover that maybe u just need closure from this relationship and not anything more.and if its something more then u willhave to think of a strategy to get him to move from being a friend to more.

There is nothing wrong with still wanting to be with him. try asking other guys out, live life to it's fullest and don't keep worrying about some guy. Live your life and enjoy it You only live once
