Ironic.

Some people say that the reason why the world is so full of turmoil and hatred is just because people are not in their religion.

A Christian might say the world is like this because "they don't accept Christ",

A person from a different religion might say a similiar thing that is aligned to that,

But,

If each religion teaches love, peace and harmony,

Isn't that already sufficient?

Islam teaches to respect others, Christianity teaches to love everyone else, even Atheism have their own morality,

Isn't that already enough? If we all could just follow our belief properly, our belief that is of peace, love and harmony.

Then teach our own people who spread hatred this, teach them what they doing is wrong,

What's the point of telling others that they are wrong when our own brothers are wrong?

So isn't it already enough to follow the teachings of peace and harmony from our own belief?

I agree. Every religion teaches about peace, harmony, brotherhood, etc. But we have forgotten these principles.

The problem here is we have wrongly manipulated religion. Religion is induction of few ethics upon us designed for creating a harmony in the society. But we mistook religion for our identity. We forgot to identify ourselves as well as other as human beings. Everyone now is a christian, hindu, jew, muslim, etc. But how many of us are human beings?

All the best...

We are thinkers. There are so many non thinkers. Some of us may be confident, others may not . The fanatic actrions spurts from the reaction of a single individual in a group. The group behave in an aggressive way, unmindful of the suffereres . It is not enough that this question is raised at individual level. It cannot be solved by individuals unless there is some one of the kind of Jesus, Buddha, Ganthi, mother Theresa or Vivekananda.

If is high time the U.N calls for an assembly of all religious leaders of the world and plan to eradicate religious violance.
This is no more a religious issue. It is an internatyional issue like trade and commerce.

Every one must be taught above what his own religion says, to bring peace and harmony into the society, state and world.
All religious leaders should jointly do atleast one days penance in an year for this purpose. Let humanity live.

You do not have to be a Christian, and I am one, or Muslim or anything else for that matter to show a bit of common courtesy and respect to anyone, sadly common courtesy is just not that common.

I will only speak as a Christian here, though I would think the same would apply across the board, but there a few different categories here within Christian circles:

1. Those who are saved, born again and desire with all their heart to follow Christ and be Christ like, whilst they may make mistakes, they will show love and tolerance.

2. There are those who develop a kind of arrogance, thinking they have the right to insult everyone who does not agree with them, I need to quantify this a bit, I believe in the Word of God as truth and I will stand for it and so on, but it needs to be done with love and compassion. This catagory also would include those who do not follow the teachings in the Bible closely and so on.

3. There are religious church goers, who are not really saved, some of whom try to be good people, some are, some are not. These people come under the heading of what people outside of Christianity call Christianity, what I mean by this is for many, because you come from a 'Christian' country, you are a Christian, this is like saying because you were born in a stable you are a horse.

Many who come under this catagory are far from acting like Christians should and cause much much trouble and missunderstanding as to what a Christian is and should be, mainly because others believe them to be Chrsitian when they are not.

So from your details:
It is not sufficient to teach peace and harmony,
OR
It is not peace and harmony that Religions teach.

Both statements may be true. How can they be tested?

Logic first. If teaching peace and harmony works then after thousands of years the results should be obvious. the Churches say they teach this. The results are not obvious, so it must be insufficient or the Churches are liars about what they teach.
Do visible religious leaders teach tolerance? Most of them do not seem to.
I think you get the drift

If people truly believed and followed the teachings of their chosen faith, it would be sufficient.

Unfortunately, there are those who misinterpret those teachings or use them for personal gain. And there are also those who don't believe that peace and harmony are acceptable.

Until everyone wises up and realizes that all the hatred and turmoil isn't doing any good, we'll still have these problems.

How can it be enough when the above listed turmoil and hatred is still going on. As long as there are a few immoral people whether they be Christian, Islamic, Atheists etc. it will never be enough.

Correction. Islam's book teaches to kill the infidel. Most Muslims DO NOT follow that teaching, but the religion does teach it.

Seems like a good plan to me. At times it seems like a test. Can we all accept each other? If we could love each other and accept each other all would heal.

Yeah, but people don't practice what they preach. They ignore what Christ said...and carp By Faith Alone..and continue on with their sinful lives.
