i have a close guy friend. he was very nice at the start but lately he's been very irritable and really critical on everything about me for no real reason. i still want him to be my friend but i don't know if it's still good for both of us to be friends.

is always nice and happy. Then problems arise...and there
you go....Just be glad he's not yur boyfriend. Maybe he is not
a good friend to u after all ? I wouldn't put up with that. Tell him....later.....maybe u 2 can talk again, but u need a break.
U dont have to go into details....he already knows what he's
doing. Just be firm...and strong. Dont be a weakling and let
this person mistreat u.....ur worth more...than that.

well do you know if he's going through any personal problem (homelife, school, etc.) that could be the reason, or maybe it could be (sorry if it sounds harsh) he's tired of being around you or you may irritate him. ask him why he's being like that and if he's honest and confides in you he'll tell, or else you'll just have to make the choice whether to still hang around with him or not.
