My friend just told me she is bulemic! I promised I wouldn't tell anyone and I'm gonna stay @ that! but, what can I say to her to make stuff feel better and help her out of this? She said she wants to change but doesn't know how! What can I say?

It's an addiction. She will need your support. She might be able to stop now if she hasn't been doing it for very long. But if she's been doing it for a while, she might need to go to a rehab center or somewhere to get some help. Good luck.

Tell her it's okay and that she can come to you if she needs you. You might also tell her that if she is having a hard time stopping, she may need to go to a doctor. Suggest it gently though, she probably won't like it. See how she does the first couple of weeks.

Good luck, she needs professional help. I've been that way for 8 years now, and nothing helps. It's a control issue. You start to lose your identity and identify yourself as a bulimic, and you sorta become in love with the fact that you are different, and have control over something like weight. It's something she thinks about 24/7, it's hard to over come if not impossible. I've learned to just not eat, because I'm sick of throwing up. So I eat like a cup of pudding a day, and I feel terrible I did it, but I love eating. Anyway, point is, it's really hard to control, and even with help it's unlikely she will over come it.
