Ok so I found out yesterday that my 11 year old son does not have any kind of skin problem like eczema or a rash (thank god) but his skin is just plain dry on around his entire body besides his face.

I still make him have warm/hot baths for a long time.

What can I do to make his skin smoother (not with a rough dry surface)?

IF you had any past expierences please tell me what you did for your child (and what age they were at)

Well am i extremly exprienced in dry skin.
After skin speciaslt after another and nothing working i found
that Olive leave Extract (Strongest fourm the best) expensive but extremly good.
Take say 2 teaspoons but mouth 3-5 a day and rub some on the hands as well and in couple days should be gone or close to it.
Also use PURE natural soaps (Found at many like small shops at Markets etc..)as well as many at the supermarkets are pure posin with all chemicls in them.
Also a cream that can buy at the pharmacy that works well is Darkin (Not 100% on spelling but will be very close) is great as well.
Hope this helps put in right direction

my daughter had eczema and this is just like a real bad case of dry skin except that it flakes and turns red and stuff.even though they said that i had to apply this cream to her daily i chose to take the no-nonsense approach.i began bathing her only four to five times a week, wiping her off the other two and bathing her only in luke warm water hot water dries the skin too much,I would only let her stay in the water for about five to ten minutes, and as soon as she's out of the water I pat her skin dry and never rubbed it.I also used keri lotion all over three to four times a day.Don't wipe them with baby wipes unless they contain a moisturizer and try not to use lotions that dry fast they also contain alcohol.you might even want to use vaseline for the really dry spots .

Hi!
There's a brand new product out called "Cereva". It's an
over-the-counter ( non prescription) lotion. Its Oder-less and costs less than $20 at CVS for a good size "Jar". If it doesn't improve your son can get a lotion with a steroid in it (prescription only ) but can only use it for a short time.
Warm Baths with "Aveno" will help also. ( over the counter)
