There's a girl I am really, really attracted to; I don't know why, I'm sure she's not model status or whatever, but I'm still really attracted to her. She is a Junior at my school. We've talked a few times in class, but we're not really friends or anything. I don't even know if she has a boyfriend or not. Should I ask her to Senior Prom? I am a little afraid of the fall out if she says no, and it'll be akward if it turns out she has a boyfriend, and I'm not even sure what to do on Prom day, like where to eat, who should pay what, what to wear, etc.

I was thinking to meet her alone by her locker or somewhere, and tell her flat out something like, "I'm really attracted to you [enter a few reasons here], and although we don't know each other really well, I'm hoping you'll put that aside when I ask...'[Her name]....will you go to the prom with me?'"

Your help will be really appreciated, thanks. =]

Why not take it in baby steps? First, talk to her and see if she has a boyfriend. Then ask her to go out this weekend. Why should the prom be your first date? If your date goes well, then ask her to the prom. I know it's getting near prom time but an extra day or 2 to get to know her a little won't hurt.

You don't really need that much explanation prior to an invitation to any event. Just ask. The locker alone will lessen your embarrassment if she says no.
If you go, you pay. It's pretty much the standard, and trying to convince even a long-time girlfriend to pay for prom events would come across VERY tacky. This is expensive. Corsage, tux rental (she will take care of her outfit,) limousine (or your Dad's car,) dinner at a nice place. Some friends will share the limo costs and go to the same restaurant together, and then to the Prom and home. For the best memories, be on your best behavior. Don't drink, that alone can give you some very bad memories. Have fun, it's a once-in-a-lifetime memory.

If you like this girl enough, you will be willing to take the chance of asking her. If you don't bother to ask her you will feel guilty for a long time. Don't pass this chance up. If she DOES say no, or DOES have a boyfriend, just remember she's just a girl.

i would try and get to know her better first. why don't you ask her to hang out sometime first, before you drop such a big question on her?

i've had 2 guys ask me to prom before that i didn't really know that well, and it was really awkward having to say no without hurting their feelings. girls wanna go with someone they're comfortable with so they know they'll have fun!
