I like the DVD's better for several reasons.

1. The sound quality rocks the house on surround sound
2. They are more compact and take up less space to store
3. You never have to worry about rewinding a DVD
4. You never have to worry about a DVD getting slack
5. You'll never have to run "tracking" on a DVD
6. You can throw a DVD like a frisbee
7. If you microwave a DVD, it cracks up all neat and cool
8. You can't make a neat wall mural using VHS
9. You can't hardly buy a decent VHS player anymore
10. Do they even put new releases on VHS anymore?
...
a few among the many reasons.

DVD had two meanings, both are correct. One is "Digital Video Disc". The other is "Digital Versatile Disc". DVD is cleaner picture than VHS, but, at this point is time, is not as versatile. When good programmable DVD recorders fall below $100 in price, they will start to really replace VHS.

I prefer the DVD, is easier to navigate and select scenes without having to rewind the vhs tapes.
Also is smaller and easier to store, and I can watch then in the dvd or in the computer.

DVD only has two letters to remember "D" and "V".
VHS has three and I can't remember all of those letters.

Do you know what the "V" in DVD is?
Hint, it ain't video even though a lot of "experts" think it is.

I like both, and both have their own qualities. But I think VHS is the standard and is the one most reliable out of all of kinds of recording material.
