is it healthy to cry? i think to an extent it might be, but if i'm upset about something personal how much is too much? if i don't get over this and just continue being upset and cry about it, will there be any health issues?

It is natural to cry, cry your heart out until there are no more tears - go on, go ahead. It is a sign of this emotion-less world we live in that a person has to ask if it is OK to cry. Sad really, I could cry

Its healthier to cry than bottle up your emotions and have a nervous break down, but yes, there are healthy limits, it's just an individual thing. If you are usually a very together person then maybe it seems like you're been crying too much. If you're an over emotional person then this might be a walk in the park. The basic rule of thumb is "if it impacts with your functioning then it isn't normal" (ie. you can't eat, sleep, work, study etc without this problem impacting you or making you feel down then it is a problem). If that is the case the I recommend seeking help. It could be a friendly chat with your local doctor or perhaps you might want to see a counsellor.

Tears are a healthy release of tension, however, if you are in such a state that you cannot control your crying, you probably need to see a professional. Are you having a problem with periodic or continuous depression? Are you having health or family problems? Are you eating and sleeping regularly or sporadically?
Although we all go through times in our lives when our emotions seem to get a little out of control, if this has been going on for more than a couple of weeks you should probably discuss it with a counselor.

Yes it is very healthy to have a cry. Crying however may not be enough to help you deal with your emotions. You need to talk to someone about they reason behind your crying. Remember the saying "a problem shared is a problem halved". Talk to close friends or family or even the Samaritans. Don't keep things bottled up or it could lead to health issues.

It is healthy to cry to a certain extent. If you are crying every day for a good part of the day, that might not be 'healthy'...but everyone should cry sometime!

yes. absolutely it is healthy. you feel better and at the same time release chemicals in your body you really don't need.
when too much is too much is a tough one. i don't know. health issues physically, probably not. if it does get to the point where you just cant get past it, you might need some professional help - and find out if there's a deeper root than just a personal issue.

I read a study once that said that tears depending on the emotion have different chemical compounds. Sad tears are different from angry tears and so forth. That says that tears may be natures way of getting stuff out that needs to come out. In fact keeping your tears in may be harmful. Of course if your sad all the time, and you cry all the time, you might be depressed. But otherwise tears are a good thing............

i believe that its always healthy to cry when you feel that you need to, it sometimes helps to get that emotion out of your system. what your upset about could be something really bad but dont be afraid to cry just because you think it wont be healthy to cry too much.

cryin is just like laughin...they both express an emotion u feelin inside. it aint a bad thing at all...but if u feel like itz way to much, u can always try meditatin!!! cryin just relieves some inner stress, problems...but i wouldnt force it. let it come naturally, n when u really feel like u gotta cry, n u dnt want ppl around to kno, than step aside for a lil, or seperate yoself. if u hold it in, u gonna feel sick, n get depressed!

crying is a good way to release stress, its better than resorting to violence! And it also clears out your system =) I'm not sure if it could produce health issues.. i havent heard of anything like that anyway.
