Usually eating an apple 2 hours before or after a meal helps other times either omeprazole or domperidone (motilium) works for me. Although there are other prescription for Acid Reflux, I suggest u do not self medicate.
Most drugs I learnt which help treat symptoms in d short-term (4 to 8 wks, maximum), long-term use can cause d body 2produce extra amt of d hormone called gastrin. Gastrin is d substance that tells your stomach 2make more acid. Antacids only mask d underlying problem of your heartburn or acid reflux. Most antacids contain excessive amounts of minerals. Excessive mineral imbalances can be very harmful.
So be very careful. Balance your diet. If you know u are taking your food with picante sauce, don't drink coffee or take any other acidic food or drinks within the same meal time.
