Maybe non-blacks don't understand why you feel this way, but I'm black, so I know you have to represent your race because sometimes you are the only black person some people will ever know and you want to dispell the myths about our race being ghetto and ignorant. This chick is completely undermining your efforts to promote your race in a good light in class. For that reason alone *stop giving her your notes* asap. She has hands to eat her forbidden snacks and do her illegal drugs, so she can take her own d^*# notes!
Change your seat in class to be FAR away from her near the professor if possible.
BEFORE your next class speak with your professor about her behavior and how it bothers you that she takes advantage of your kindness by taking your notes all the time. Exaggerate if necessary, it'll be believable because this chicks behavior speaks for itself. Then on a different day try to speak with some of your classmates and ask them if they are bothered by her disruptive behavior, if they are, ask them if they'll be willing to speak bring a complaint to the professor with you. If that doesn't work go to the dean.
Even if you had paid $100 for the course, rules are rules. She breaks them and disrupt the class. You paid WAY too much money to deal with crap like this.

Don't confront, it will not do you a bit of good, it will just garner sympathy for her, poor ghetto girl. And might get people, including professors, upset with you. If you lose your cool, it puts you a bit nearer to her class[or better, the lack of it]. And you could get hurt.
Sit away from her as far as possible. Make sure your behavior is exemplary, that you dress and act in an appropriate manner.
My friend gets irrate with people like her. She says things like, what did our people fight for our rights for, so she could take us backward in time? The answer is "no." The purpose was to be free. So that everyone has the personal right to do what they please, be who they want. It doesn't make her right, just gives her rights.
And, really, the professors should intervene if she is disruptive. Maybe they are afraid. Of her personally, or the power she has to make trouble.
Been there, done that, same situation. and our troublemaker cheated on exams, copied off of other people. The instructor did intervene, the person called the NAACP, as is her right, and the instructor was told, by administration, to back off, and let her alone. She continued to try to copy, but everybody in the class had her number by then, and did not let her.
You do not have to share your notes, or answer her questions. Tell her you do not have time to share, you have to be somewhere. If she still bugs you, refer her to the instructor, to get her questions answered.
Hope this helps.

I completely understand why you are embarassed by someone's actions that you don't even know. Weather people like it or not judgments on our gender and race are usually made by the worst experience they've had with someone. You can only be the good example.
I would first go to her so she won't be offended or surprised if she hears about you going to the dean or the teacher. If no results, then I would definitly go to the dean about her because you are paying good money for this class and she or anyone else has no right to disrupt that in any way.
And PLEASE do not give her your notes.

Let's prioritize. I have taken classes with really annoying people as well. If they are affecting my ability to absorb the info I am supposed to be absorbing then I would move for them to removed from the class (Your taking out an $11,000.00 loan for God's sake). Now, if you are just embarrassed b/c she is a black female shaming her whole race of black females, then just get over that. You are there to learn, not to be accountable for the whole female black race by being embarrassed by this chicks behavior. Good luck.

You are absolutely right and should be commended not condemned for your request. She needs to be reported to the dean but chances are nothing will be done. Remember, she's there because she also paid her $11,000.00 somehow. Until the instructor gets disgusted enough, you may be stuck with her. Sometimes disgusting people like that are placed in our lives to remind us what we do NOT want to become and to give us the strength to continue running in the opposite direction. And next time she asks you for your notes, let her know you are still working on them. They are not legible and missing information and you don't want to misguide her.

To start-quit giving her your notes. If she asks why tell her how you feel.
If I paid 11,000. for a course I would expect them to do something about her & would have no qualms about talking to the teacher to start then the counselors & dean. Maybe you could get several students together to resolve the situation, then you would not be dealing with it all on your own.
It sounds like if you choose to sit back & let her walk all over everyone, she will eventually cut her own rope, and get kicked out.
I see no reason for you to feel almost responsible for her just because she is the same race & gender as you. It is people like her who show us how not to act. So thank your lucky stars that you have the class to know how to present yourself.

You do not owe her anything. Just because you are both black does not mean that she is a reflection of you. She is ghetto and you were raised better that's all. All you can do is be an example to her. There is so much bad in every race. Just be the better person and everything will fall into place.
If you tell her anything, just be honest about her lack of class.
Good luck and all the best.

If you Say other classmates do not like her behavior either I would get a few of you to go to the lecturer and get him/her to talk to this woman. If she does not do anything go to the Dean of your school. You have every Right to learn.
Also, stop giving her the notes and tell her straight out why. She is not a friend, you don't owe her anything so don't feel bad about doing this.
GOOD LUCK! - would be interested to know how it goes!

All i can tell you is to act the opposite of her and give black women a good name. I live in college station Texas where there is maybe a 5 percent black population. but when there is a black person in the room you usually know it because they are usually loud, obnoxious, and as you put it "Ghetto". I know that there are white people that act this way but it is usually black people. I really love to see when a black person acts not "ghetto", i have the utmost respect for them and treat and think of them as any normal human being, and do not see black or white.
I know this does not answer your question, but represent African Americans in a positive way and don't be like that girl, and be proud of who you are!
