I've been usins contacts exclusively for more than 2 years because my old glasses were broken and I had no money to replace them. Now I still didn't have a lot of money to replace them, but I found those online sites. I used Zenni optical and its taken about 9 days. I put the glasses on and its a little weird. Its the same prescription as my contacts, but things seem farther away . Why could that be?

I don't know why it is but the same thing happen to me when I got new glasses about a month ago. It take a few days to get use to them, just put them on for as long as your eyes can handle them until you grow accustom to them.

I've started using contacts for the past week and was surprised how 'big' everything looked. I am guessing it has to do with the shape and thickness of the lenses. Contact lenses are curved. They follow the surface of the eyeball and are thinner. However glasses seem more linear and thick.

But it could also be that contact lenses are directly on the eye whereas there is some distance when you wear glasses. Try moving your glasses away from you, everything gets even smaller.

If I knew the scientific explanation I would gladly include more detail lol.

Also keep in mind that you haven't worn glasses in a while, so the thought of things being farther away will disappear in time if you keep wearing your glasses regularly (or switch between lenses occasionally).

yeahh happened to me, but you will get used to it after about a week. It's just because you were so used to that prescription close up and now its a little farther away and might make you feel dizzy...but really dont worry you will get used to them...and if you dont, call your eye doctor, bcuz they could have messed up your prescription also
