Are the girls with you or step mom? What does the girl getting married want - If she wants all the girls in the wedding to look the same, and your youngest daughter is one of those girls, then you either dress her the same, or tell her she can't be in the wedding. Step mom can want all she wants - it's the brides decision what the girls wear - honor brides request or don't get involved in the wedding ceremony at all. Neither you or step mom really have a say on this one... aren't weddings just the greatest thing ever???!!! Sorry, big weddings seem so complicated - and stressful...

this is your daughter's wedding and its up to her to tell her step-mum that her sister is in the wedding party and therefore will be dressed like the other attendants. easy!
even if the two little ones are in the wedding party, their dresses should be different from the other attendants because of their age if nothing else. you don't put the same gown on grown women, and/or teens as you do infants and little ones.
stepmum hasn't done anything wrong by asking, but it does need to be dealt with and quickly!
good luck and congrats to your daughter!

I say this in the nicest way possible, BUTT OUT! Your daughter is getting married and she will make that decision, not you. She doesn't need any needed stress being told what she should think or what her stepmom or mom think etc. She is the bride, let her make the decision.

Ask your daughter how she feels.... If she ok with it then leave it alone. They are all sister now and I don't think it's that big of a deal... I think the step mom just wants them to be all the same and connect that day- which is a nice idea.

how old is your youngest ?
has your eldest asked that her other brother and sister be involved in the wedding or not.
maybe if your youngest is quite a bit older than the little ones and your eldest is alright with the 'same theme', maybe her dress could be the same color, not necessarily the same style. all my attendants are different ages and sizes so we have kept the colour the same but they all have different styles. after all i would rather that they all be comfortable on the day....
but most importantly it depends on what thebride and groom want, it is after all their day...

This is your daughter's wedding and I'm sure she knows what she wants. Let her take care of this, stay out unless she asks your opinion. Ultimately, she decides on all the attire; not you, or her attendants or her stepmother.
