Ok, so meat is a great source of protein which my fiance needs since he is lifting and working out. Got it!

Now, which meats would be healthiest for him (or anyone) to eat. Does it matter how it's prepared?

Chicken and turkey are white meats. You can grill them, outside or on a George Foreman grill. You can fry them in some olive oil (olive oil is a healthy fat, and we all need some healthy fat in our diet) or bake them in the oven or microwave.
Pork is a white meat. Some cuts are fatty, but anymore pork is just as lean as chicken. You can fry it in olive oil, grill it, fix in a crock pot, bake it. There are some great pork fillet roasts that are already seasoned in your local grocery store that are lean and really tasty.
I don't eat beef, so can only tell you that you should find lean cuts. Don't get ground beef; it's full of fat, even if it says it's very lean. You can also grill, roast, bake beef steaks, roasts.

Don't forget fish. Salmon steaks, tuna steaks, white fish..are all full of protein and good.

Other sources of protein: eggs, peanut butter (get reduced fat), a bean and a grain together (dried beans like baked beans), low fat cheese, skim or 1% milk, low or fat free yogurt.

The biggest thing to remember is you should be a label reader. Don't eat products that contain trans fats (partially hydrogenated oils). Watch frozen dinners...some of them contain humungous amounts of fat. Eat lots of fruits, veggies, dark green leafy salads, whole grains (read the labels), and some healthy fats like almonds, walnuts, olive oil.

Eat 3 moderate meals a day and 2 healthy snacks, to keep your blood glucose and metabolism at a steady level. Don't think you have to be full after a meal. Eat slowly so you don't over eat before your stomach signals that it's had enough.

Drink at least 8 cups of fluids a day. Watch the alcohol; it has calories and will easily and quickly pile on the pounds.

Chicken, fish, turkey, even lean beef is good.

Have it properly cooked because bacteria that feed on protein don't care if the protein comes from raw meat or human tissue. That is why salmonella is so lethal.

However, avoid deep frying. It adds a lot of grease which is fattening and makes harder to digest the protein.
