The drunk usually lives because the one that is conscious (the sober one) tenses his muscles because of the shock of being hit. The drunk one does not have that tension because, with alcohol in his blood, he is not aware of what is going on, so the body tends to jump around and the damage is less to his body. This is what I heard from someone who experienced a fatal crash in which her mom and mother in law passed away. She survived because she was sleeping at the moment, so she was not aware of what was going on. Everyone else in the car died except her and that was the conclusion that they gave to her as to how she survived the accident. By the way, I got me my costco card renewed yesterday and I bought some Mondavi wine, so cheers!

If some thing smashes into your body, it doesn't matter how relaxed you are, you still get hurt. The drunk driver is in the car that runs into the other car, so it has all the force behind it. It's like when someone punches someone else, the person punched gets hurt, not the others fist.
Which hurts more, when you get punched in the belly unprepared, surprised?
or when you tense your muscles up and know it's coming?

i was hit by a drunk driver he walked away with a few sratches and i was in icu for a month dont do it for one and 2 it because when drunk your body get "relaxed" so you cant react being sober you tence when something is coming at you but dont drink and drive stay at home and do it if you want to be drunk or have a designated driver

I've heard that it may have something to do with the fact that the person who is drunk doesn't realize what is happening and so doesn't tense up; the body is very relaxed and kind of goes more with the flow of what's happening.

God wants the drunk to feel guilty and realize how they cost a life of an innocent person, because of drinking.

Statistics do not support this assertion-plenty of drunk drivers get killed.

because the dead drunks are the lucky ones and the ones that live are just to stupid to die unfortunately its the innocent by stander that gets the worst of these things
