Your vet should not of released your chi until at least tomorrow afternoon. She will still be groggy for at least another 18 hours because the anesthesia is still in her system. When they are under anesthesia they have no control of their bowels/bladder so it is common for them to go to the bathroom.
At the clinic that I work at, the vets will not release a dog that has had surgery in the abdominal cavity (like hernia repairs and spays) for at least 24 hours. They will only allow dogs that have had minor procedures (like laceration repairs and neuters) to go home the same day.
I would call you vet and make sure that she is okay. Chis (especially small puppies) are prone to becoming hypoglycemic, where their blood sugar drops too low, and it can be deadly. If you have any, I would try giving her some Nutra-Cal or any other vitamin paste made for dogs.

It is pretty normal for them to be groggy pretty much the entire rest of the day but then they *should* wake up as their normal selves in the morning, even if they are still a little less energetic because they are still in pain.
I'm not sure about the bladder thing. I don't know. Your dog sounds maybe borderline for having a post-op problem. Is she "communicating" with you -- you know, responding to your voice and stuff? Will she drink water? If you set her on the floor can she walk? She may be groggy, but she should also by this time be able to do these things.
I'm really on the fence about whether you should wait til morning and she if she's "normal" or if you should try to reach an emergency vet. Do you have an emergency vet in your town? A phone number you can call?

My dog got the same operation, two weeks after her sister got hers. and it depend on the health of the dog.
Her sister need three days to be able to sit and walk and run all the normal thing she do. My dog was fine the next day. It OK that u dog cant control her bladder, she will be fine once the anesthesia is fully gone. If she cant control her bladder call yr vet and tell the prombles to the vet.
Give yr dog more love she needs it. Good luck

Depends on what she was given. If they used ketamine, that really impairs motor function and bladder control-she won't be able to get up and move. Which is why I hate ketamine. I would not have sent her home in this condition, but I do know that some vets do. Take her temperature with a rectal thermometer, it should be above 99 degrees. If it isn't then you'll need to warm her up, safest way is to put her under your shirt right next to your skin. She should be at least 90% back to normal by morning. Call the vet, ask what she was given, and if they think this is normal. If she got ketamine and her temperature is good, then I would be OK with waiting till morning. If she was NOT given ketamine, then this isn't right.

Your vet really shouldn't have released her until tomorrow. She will still be groggy and drowsy for at least another 18-24 hours. She won't have full control over her bladder so don't worry. If she starts vomiting, that's when you should get worried.
Hope she gets better soon!

It all depends on the animal. But the effects of anesthesia usually last a few days. The grogginess and grouchiness can last a little longer. She might want to be left alone. Keep an eye on her, but give her her space until she's feeling a little better.
The uncontrollable bladder issue is normal, yes.

This is not normal for the anaesthetic sthat should be used.
If they used Thiobarb (barbituate) then she will be sleepy for that long but they should NEVER discharge a patient until they are up walking.
The premed will last 24 hours this should make her sleepy and wobbly when walks, but she should be able to sit, walk, eat and function normally.
THIS IS NOT NORMAL

Why don't you call your vet and ask? They could give you a much quicker, and more reliable response.
