High stress levels cause you blood pressure to rise and stay high. Your pulse rate goes up. It also cause the higher release of acids which cause ulcers and constant heartburn.

The above mentioned issues deal with the "body" part of stress. The "mind" part of stress is the bad part of stress. You suffer the body part of stress but everybody around you suffer the mind part of stress.

You become absent minded because your brain constantly try and "solve" the stress causing issues. You can't sleep at night and you become grumpy. You loose your temper for no reason at all and you start to think everybody go out of their way to make you angry. This is obviously due to the fact that you can't seem to accept that there is two sides to a story and that you can't be right every time.

The worst come when you get a "stress attack". Your blood pressure go up very high, your pulse start to race and you hyperventilate. Your "internal protection" system make you faint to try and stop this and you start to have the shakes - much like a fit. This is obviously not how far you want to stretch the stress in life but it happens to some people. With medication and rest you get out of this but it is like doctering the illness and not the cause.

If your job cause stress, make sure that you "leave your job at work" and "switch off" from it when you go home. Get something to do which take your mind away from the "stress cause". It is the only thing that work. Docters will give you anti-depressants etc. but eventually you must handle it yourself. They treat the "body" but you must get the "mind" part in order.

Stress causes muscle tension....to much tension can cause chest pain...which can result in a heart attack. (the heart is a muscle) Also, if you are stressed you can also become depressed and depression can sincerely make you hurt all over like you've been hit by a train....If your body is tensed up it gets tired and if it's tired....your chances to get sick are greater because you won't have the strength to fight off cooties.

Stress is the cause of most disease. I've heard it said that cancer is the ultimate stress disorder. Uncontrolled stress can hurt any part of your body from intestinal pains to heart problems, to migraines, to obesity or malnutrition. Ulcers are stress related. Muscle spasms, back pain, even grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw can cause dental problems. High blood pressure, strokes, anxiety, panic disorders, mental instability can all be related to uncontrolled stress.

It gives me chest pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain. I was stressed out so much before I ended up with a bald spot on the top of my head, since I'm a woman that was embarrasing.

A lot of 'diseases' that doctors can't explain, are caused by so-called stress - ACTUALLY, many very BAD diseases are exacerbated by stress, like Parkinson's Disease, MS, chronic fatigue syndrome. If you were to go to websites about diseases, you would find STRESS is one of the contributors to ALL of them. Surprises me that doctors don't call stress a 'virus'! hehe It seems to be their cover-all word for what they can't explain. I guess they are supposed to believe they are God or something, instead of just sayin' "GEE! THAT'S A RUM'UN!"
