Yes. You can back out. Just talk to your recruiter and if he tries to feed you bologna go over his head. Don't do what others are saying and fake an illness and go AWOL. That would be a major mistake that you would pay for for a very long time. It could end up hurting future careers because you will be viewed as irresponsible. I know that some aren't meant for military but if it is only your nerves, really think it over. The Air Force is awesome and has great benefits and you will have job training like none other. Really think it over, and be careful as to whom you listen to on here...some of these people are morons simply trying to further their agenda.

you can back out till the day you leave. is what i was told. when you get closer to the date you have to swear in at meps.(for the 2nd time) but why do you want to back out, are you nervous about the trainning? cause if thats it, the airforce is not a hard bootcamp probably the easiest out of all the branches. goodluck on whatever you decide

Yes, prior to the week you ship out call in sick.
There after awol.
If you join airforce to fly, yes I can understand
join to clean jet, change oil, check air filter
and service pilot ...nah nah ..nah
You should have stay home work at jiffy lube or some mechanic shop ......drive old car, eating pizza, go out on a date and drink after work. Enjoy real life.
In airforce they don't teach you a craps, they want someone to clean the jet and salute pilots that's all.

Well your going to need to talk to your recruiter. but as you may well know, its only six weeks and it flies by. I could do it again if i wanted to. If you are serious about backing out, make sure you do it before you get there. if you try to pretend suicide, you'll end up staying there longer.
