Go for something kind of old-school, like prozac. That is available in generic, and it has been around for a while. As far as I know, it can be taken during pregnancy, etc.

Best to ask a doctor. Nothin is more valuble than your own child. We all know that most things get passed through breast milk. When I breast fed both of my sons, even spicy food affected their litle tummies. Think twice before jumping on the prescription bandwagon?!

You really need to talk to your doctor about this. Most mood elevators like Cymbalta, Zoloft, etc. will come through in breast milk. If you need to be on an antidepressant you might need to bottle feed. There ARE legitimate reasons to bottle feed and this is one of them. Good luck.
