Yes, the Amtrak Capitol Corridor train service runs along that route several times a day for little cost! Just take the train from Sacramento to San Jose where a Santa Cruz Metro bus connection links up to the train making it an easy and affordable trip! I'd place the one way trip cost at about $25 or less.
