NO, not quit as large as a house. From what I've read of the subject , this 'giant' was about 7 to 7 ft, 8 inches which would still include him as a giant. All throughout history there have been men borm with giantism attributes, in the same way that dwarfism occurs. David's giant probably was in far better physical shape than they usually are. Many giants are born with a wide range of medical and physical infirmaties which would preclude them from the rough and rigorous life in thoes armies. As an agnostic, I have no problem in assumming that that event did infact occur, some where, some time. But it is a parable.

The Giant that David killed was a very big scary warrior, but he was not a fairy tail magical giant like the one in the story of Jack and the bean stalk. But that does not stop children's books from drawing him that way.
Please read the story from the Bible. I think you will find Truth to be even more existing then fairy tails.

No. It is not a fairy tale. Goliath was over 9.5 Ft. tall and to a small Shepard boy in his teens, I am sure that he looked like as big as a house. He also had 4 brothers. David's mighty men killed the remaining four according to the Holy Scriptures.
1 Samuel 17:4 - And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
1 Samuel 17:23 - And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them.
1 Samuel 21:9 - And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me.
1 Samuel 22:10 - And he enquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.
2 Samuel 21:19 - And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
1 Chronicles 20:5 - And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.

I believe somewhere in the story in the Bible it tells how large Goliath was. I believe it was close to 9 feet which has been matched today. He is just a very large man who probably sufferred from one of the growth hormone conditions known about today. It would still be a fearsome sight though.

The answer is "Acromegaly"
a benign tumor on the pituitary gland which causes too much growth hormone to be released causing gigantism. People suffering from this often also suffer from tunnel vision. This means they have an extremely narrow field of vision being able to only see what is directly in front of them -
This woudl explain why David running would make him basically invisible to Goliath.
Speaking of childrens stories, do you not find it a bit childish tying to attack people's faith over the internet with what I gues you suppose is humor?

Goliath was over 9 feet tall and had 6 fingers and 6 toes.
Heaven and hell could just be the fabrication of a child-or it could be real. I know the latter to be the truth.

He was about 9.5 feet tall. 1 Samuel 17:4 says, "And a champion began to go out from the camps of the Philistines, his name being Goliath, from Gath, his height being six cubits and a span."

No...he's not that kind of giant. : )
The most accepted answer is that he was 6 cubits and a span, about 3 meters tall, or 9'6". But one of the oldest Hebrew documents, the Dead Sea Scrolls says that he was 4 cubits and a span, about 7' tall.

could it be a childrens fairy tail? perhaps. but i never thought of fairys as having tails.
in my opinion, i think it is a tale told to teach morality. call me crazy, but ive never seen a person as big as a house walking around. or heard of any fossils discovered that show people that large, or even close to that large ever existed.
then again, christians tend to believe fossil records are proof about as much as i believe someone could have built a boat big enough to fit every animal on the planet on it.
