I have been throught a bout of major depression, and have been able to work down to a low dose of celexa. I don't feel the depression anymore, but now that I am doing better I miss myself. My creativity and sex drive are shot. And this is after having tried many, many different medications. These are the smallest side effects I can find and still have a medication work. I want my mind and my body back. Is there any alternative to anti-depressants?

It depends on the cause of your depression. If it's situational you may be able to go off the meds and handle the depression through therapy - but obviously talk to your doc about this and only go off meds with his/her supervision. You have to taper off of celexa too - the withdrawl from that is pretty nasty.
If your depression is caused by a natural chemical imbalance you probably need a medication to correct it. Have you tried combinations of meds before? I was on a combo of celexa and wellbutrin for a while - that worked for me and the celexa side effects were cancelled out by the wellbutrin. If you've tried several different ones already I won't tell you there's bunches out there because you already know ;-)
Talk to your doctor about your options, if the side effects of the celexa are really impacting your life than they are severe enough to pay attention to and fix.

Of course consult with your physician because you have been on meds and you don't want any contraindications because medications can stay in your system for weeks but an natural alternative is St.John Wart get on the net and do some research personally I have used it and after taking it for a few weeks I noticed a difference

hullo
non medical therapy as psychotherapy or cognitive therapy may do the job,if you are sensitive to drugs, still all anti depressants have side effects, but they are dose dependent and are transient.
