Better generally. It really depends on the individual torrent. I use www.piratebay.org it allows you to search an enourmous database and read reviews of the item, which weeds out fakes and poor quality copies. Generally the larger the file the better the quality. I would recommend using limewire for music however, torrents are better for videos.

Torrent files are links to actual files on the net in others' server. You can download torrents from site like http://thepiratebay.org/ . To use the torrent, you have to install softwares like BitComet or BitTorrent or Morpheus. Usually it takes a long time to download a file using torrent because many torrent files link to large files.

In a way it's just the same as limewire just more safer because people who use torrents don't have or give out viruses.

the torrent is like a compressed file that contains the locations of files on the net... kinda like a .zip file that contains the links to each word in a book.

you can download them from various sites, but to open them and make them usable you need bittorrent.. which will basically assemble them and turn them into more recognizable files like .wma, .mpeg, etc...

you can download bittorent at www.bittorrent.com
