I am considering getting my eyes tatooed to look like I'm wearing eyeliner. Is this process painful? Is it worth it. I wear contact lenses and my eyes get irritated and my eyeliner smears. I hate it. Any advice?

My mom had it done a couple of months ago. She said she feels that it was worth it. As far as the pain level, I'm not sure, since I didn't ask her about it. I know she drove home by herself afterwards, so it probably wasn't too bad.

It is a really common thing in the Asian community, but I haven't heard great things about it. One is the pain factor. My mom said it was worse than childbirth. She couldn't leave the house for over a week because of the swelling. When I came home, I was so freaked out by her face that I had nightmares for a whole week about it! (I was a bit young then. . .)

The other pain is the touch ups. Because your face is in the sun all the time, the color fades faster and the ink color will change and fade. If you get black ink done, it'll turn blue with time and look kinda crusty. The thought of going through the pain again scared my mom so much that she just uses a pencil over her tat--which defeats the purpose!

Instead, have you tried liquid eyeliner? It doesn't smudge or smear and won't get into your eye. You can even get waterproof liquid eyeliner (only for those with ridiculously steady hands). I would explore every avenue before committing to such a painful and permanent solution.

I had it done 10 years ago. If given the chance, I would not do it again. The reason is because you must have a retouch about two weeks after the first time, it is painful, and the first 5-7 days you look like you cried your soul out. Another thing to consider is that you cannot wash your eyes or have water fall in your face (as when you take a shower) for the first days, in this case it would be ideal to do it when on vacation and with no plans to go out.

Although I did it a long time ago, recently a friend of mine had her eyebrows tattooed and I have found out that the process has not changed. If you decide to go for the procedure, please go to someone whose work you have already seen and is certified to do it.

With time, tattoos fade and color becomes gray. Also, as you grow older, your skin stretches down and so will your tatoo. Another factor to take into consideration is the fact that not every skin, body is the same. So if a friend feels that it was not great deal and pain was worth it, it may or may not be the same for you.

One last important detail to take into account, if you donate blood, you will not be able to do that anymore.

One advice for solution is to wear eye drops and liquid eyeliner.

Yes, I had my eyeliner tattooed. It is the best investment I ever made. It isn't really painful. She numbed it a lil with ointment and if you do start to feel it she numbs it again. Definately worth the money. And better yet, you don't wake up in the morning looking like a raccoon.

I wouldn't do it. Styles change time and are you going to want to where your makeup the same way when your 60? I saw a lady who had this done and it looked tattoo not natural at all. Y0ou might want to try some different makeup. My eyes always itched when I wore I make up and when I tried "M.A.C" makeup it stayed on and did not irritate me at all it is pretty $$$ but it stayed on all day and did not bother me at all.. Or try some natural choices like burt bees I never had a problem with that brand irratating me either.

i have thought about doing it before too but it is really painful. my aunt had it done and she said it hurt like hell. i thought it didnt look worth it eitherbecause they put a thin line underneath your bottom eyelashes. it looks kind of cheap. eyeliner should b worn inside hte eye on the llower lidline.try the little red stick eyeliner from maybelline.you may have to put it on after heating it with a lighter and wait for it to dry before releasing your bottom lid but it dries good and looks nice all day.

This works for a lot of ladies.
Think Before You Ink.............
Shop around and get the very best.
This is not the type of tattoo
that just anybody can do.
This takes a very special kind of talent.
