i know two people who have gotten tattoos on the inside of their lips. im not sure if you meant on the inside or outside. one of them have tattoos on their feet, stomach and legs and didnt think the lip one hurt that much more than the other ones. the other person had one also on her back and seemed to do okay during the lip one. she did look like she was in pain, but i mean its a tattoo, right? one caution though if you are thinking about getting on on the inside of your lip... they dont hold sharpness very well. dru's lip one seemed to "blur" a little bit and hers didnt hold at all. hope that helps~~~

Are you talking about inside the lip (a la Blade) or on the lips like makeup tats?
The friends who've had the inner lip done said it is painful, but not the worst they've felt. I've heard that they can stretch out with time and the colors will bleed, though I've yet to see it for myself.
As for the makeup tats, my mom had hers done and said it was more painful than childbirth. Her lips swelled up so big that she couldn't leave the house for quite some time. You have to think about the coloration--any part of your body that is differently colored usually indicates more nerve endings (ie. lips, vagina, nipples, penis, etc). (Side note, lighter skinned people tend to be pinker while darker skinned people tend to be darker in these regions.)
If your pain tolerance is high, go for it, though I don't think it is for the faint of heart. :)

The pain is not so bad, but
the swelling after wards..Ouch!
You better get a really good artist.
The lip is a hard place to do. If you
are going to that much trouble, it
better look like what you intended.

Your lip??? Are you sure? I have six on my body as well and have never thought once of the lip. I think it would be pretty painful.

Nipple piercings harm greater than lobe piercings, a reasonable bit extra when you consider that of the nerve dense tissue. Exactly how a lot more? It simply will depend on your frame, like how so much a lobe piercing hurts on a scale of one million-10; all people's our bodies are distinctive in the case of processing anguish.

There are an awful lot of nerve endings in your lips...
I don't know anyone who's gotten a tattoo there, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be fun.
