They're fully fledged at about 6 weeks, and I've often had them pop down with the adults and jump into the bath pan at about that age.

Birds that are fully fledged, not just feathered, will "bathe" in shallow water. It is best to have fresh clean water for them to bathe in.

No soap of any kind should ever be used. If a bird has something on it that needs washed off, consult a vet on the best way to remove it without harming the bird.

Birds generally don't bother with bathing until they're fully fledged (in case of chills), but they will cheerfully splash about in water at any time after that.

Incidentally, I hope you're not thinking of bathing the bird yourself!! NOT a good idea!!

i may not be an expert on pigeons but me and my brother and i had hand reared 8 baby ring necks. i kept 1 and it started bathing at the age of 2 months.

Baby pigeons are weaned at about 4-5 weeks. They also learn to bathe them
selves. This was not a stupid question. I looked it up and learned something.
