I think he's great, but I've notice he has extreme highs and lows in his career. He'll play unbelievably for a while, and then just really bad. Do you think he is still in his prime? I wonder if he will still be great and winning pro tourneys at 50's like Jack Nicklaus did.

Tiger definitely has high's and low's just like every other golfer. The main difference is that when Tiger is off he's STILL in contention. Tiger went through a drought in the year prior to his marriage. Many analyst said that he was declining and would never be the same because he was undergoing a swing change, but Jack Nicklaus said it was because of the upcoming marriage, and bingo! Once he was married he was right back winning tournaments like he used to. As for his prime, MOST golfer's prime isn't hit until their 30's. I think Tiger is definitely in his prime, after all his latest streak of 7 wins is longer than any he's had so far and he looks in control of his swing. I'm not sure whether he will win tournaments when he's fifty like Jack did, but I certainly wouldn't bet against him.

To say Tiger Woods has ever played "really bad" at any point in his career is completely absurd. The guy is the most dominant athlete in the history of any sport ever, and in the most difficult sport there is to dominate for any period of time. Tiger's "really bad" is comparable to some of the best players in the world playing "really well'. Even in Tiger's worst calander year when he slipped from #1 to #2 in 2004, he won more tournaments than some lifetime PGA Tour guys win in a decade.
Secondly, most golfers peak in their 30's; Tiger just turned 31. Expect him to dominate the game even more so than he did in his 20's, and since the guy is constantly working out and keeping his body in peak physical condition, It is doubtful his performance will diminish much in his 40's. Tiger will blow every record in golf out of the water as long as he stays interested, competitive and doesn't have any serious injuries.
That being said, Jack didn't work out and stay in shape at any point in his career, which is why he can barely play golf anymore. Thanks to a rigorous fitness regimen, Tiger won't have this problem and will surely be capable of winning on the tour well into his 50's and possibly 60's.

Tiger is still in his prime and those prime years will continue until other priorities take precedent. Things like family, business, public office, and just living life in a fish bowl. I would doubt that he will play much competitive golf after fifty. For the great ones the thrill is just not there on the senior tour. The also-rans are there for the money.

I doubt he'll be playing at 50. He is a perectionist and a competitor and when his skills diminish he will leave the game and either start his own tour or move on to bigger and better things even though he will probably still be a damn good golfer at 50.

Yes he's still in his prime, he'll still be playing at 50 and may surprise a few people by winning something!

He shouldn't start to decline for at least another 10 or 20 years.

After that, he'll probably be just another poor black guy who used to be great at golf. So sad. What will he live on?
