A brother of Mine (We haven't talked for a couple of years) called me on the phone the other day. He has a huge mental illness. I am very affraid that he will not only hurt himself but his kids. He was talking to me about having children with anna nichol smith and that he works for the CIA and kills lots of people. I am affaid to confront him because I think he would hurt my family. Can I call someone? Can they do anything? I don't know how this works because I don't want him finding out that I am telling on him. I guess he has been blackmaling his mom to give him money or he will kill the children. She is scared to do anything because she thinks he will actully harm them. I don't know where to turn...

If you are worried that he may harm his children you can call the children and youth services in the town in which he lives in and they can do an investigation. You do not have to give your name, just tell them what is going on and let them take it from there. It sounds like he may suffer from schizophrenia or bi- polar mania, you also don't say how old he is so getting help for him may be hard if he is an adult. Good Luck!

Do you know what the mental illness is (has he been diagnosed with anything)? Or, are you assumming he has a mental illness because of how he's been talking/acting?

If he's been diagnosed, he may be on medication. IF that's the case, the doc needs to adjust the prescription.

If he's not been diagnosed, then maybe talking him into seeing a therapist or something would help.

REGARDLESS, if you feel that anyone's life is in danger, you should call the local police dept. and the local Children and Family Services ASAP!

Best of luck to you! Hope this helps!

Definitely tell some professionals that can help you. If he has been diagnosed that means he has been under treatment and it is best to contact his primary physician since they would have his current specifics on his illness it is important that you share all of the things that you shared because patients have a tendency to be deceptive with the caregivers even though they are ill they are wise enough to withhold certain information that will indicate red flags with this person It is also important because if he is on meds and taking them properly they may not be at a correct dosage You can call his local mental health facility and they will send out a PET team to evaluate him to get him the treatment he needs and if you still feel uncomfortable call 911 anonymously and report your concern about the kids safety

I have a brother who is paranoid schizophrenic. He never threatened anyone this way but he thought the Japanese are experenting and after him. As he got older he became mellow. If you guys can get him committed to a mental institution you'll be safer. I don't think there is any cure, you can drug him and subdue him but over time it'll just fry his brains more.

if you are sure that he is suffering from a mental illness, then you should inform his doctor about the risk of hurting his own children,or the local authorities(the police)to take action.
it is your duty as a good citizen to help and protect innocent children from potential danger.good luck.
