Whenever I see pics of troop in Iraq on Tv, it looks like they are dressed for cool weather, 40-"s, etc.
What is it like over there. The temperature range, how often does it rain, is it cold??

Thanksfor the info.

Oh please tell me how this is an OPSEC violation to reveal the weather. Now if someone replies with.. "Hi I am Sgt Smith and I am at FOB Poo Poo 34 miles southeast of Baghdad. I am with the 444499000394503854th Infantry Division. The current temperature is 77 degrees and the wind is blowing south, southeast. We expect no rain until October. Dust storms are hell here. I have 3 children at 269 Stinky Avenue in Snoopy Village in Kinkyville on the continent of Antarctica." THEN we have a problem with OPSEC.

Good Grief.

Hi

Am not a military personnel in Iraq. But I'm from Jordan "next to Iraq" and I may answer ur question:
The Northern part of Iraq is cold, it may reach -1C in January but snow is rare. As u go to South u approach the desert with less rain and higher temperature.
As for my country, am from Amman, we have snow almost every year, with minimum temp~ -2 C. The southern part is desert, but it is really cold at night ~4C even in summer time!
I did my military service in the southern part of Jordan, the desert is really beautiful and cool at summer nights!I love it.
