If you really wanted to join, you could lose that ten pounds in the couple of weeks it takes for them to process your enlistment papers, before you have your final physical.

The answer is "probably not". However, why worry about 10 lbs? If you get in, their training will take more weight off and keep it off.
You could easily lose 10 lbs in 3 weeks on the atkins diet. It makes you feel weird, and it's not very healthy, but 3 weeks of atkins and some vigorous exercise every day won't hurt you.
If you want to get in badly enough, this is a very minor thing to do. The training you'll get later and all that you'll need to do will be far more difficult than just losing 10 lbs.
Anyway, get after it, and good luck.

how are your ASVAB scores? if you got a good score and the weight isnt that much of an issue you should be good. just be aware that the air force isnt recruiting as much as the army is, so if your dead set on being in the military, that is always a good option.

You can easily drop that weight in about two weeks, start jogging and eating healthy meals.

Sure they will. Haven't you heard? Soldiers are dying daily. They need fresh bodies.
