I'm gonna be in the chorus and I'm having trouble finding the score at the librarys. Is this show really old that they hardly have scores for? And, I ended up getting the easy piano score w/some songs in it w/lyrics. Do you know how often the chorus is in the show cause I'm not sure if the book I have has all the songs. If you know, can you tell me what songs they sing. Thanks.

HMS Pinafore is more of a comic opera or an operetta, rather than a musical, written in 1878 by Gilbert and Sullivan. I don't know this show specifically, but in most other Gilbert and Sullivan shows, the chorus or ensemble is fairly regularly present. I found this version of the libretto : http://diamond.boisestate.edu/gas/pinafore/pinafore.doc which can probably help you out.

The chorus is surprisingly in it quite a bit.
I was in it quite a while back, as an extra.
There are two sets of extra choruses/ensembles:
1) The sailors
2) The ladies

They sing songs like HMS Pinafore, and sailing.

I'd say look up the music in free databases, but your director should have at least one copy of the score.
