Im looking for an interesting yet intimate/romantic restaurant open late around midtown? I wont be able to get to the restaurant until 10:15 or so. Any places that are open that late? Not too expensive, live music a major plus. Thanks

Chez Josephine on 42nd and Ninth - the restaurant is owned by Jean-Claude Baker, son of the singer, Josephine Baker. The food is reasonably priced and they always make you feel so important (Jean-Claude is absolutely charming). Live entertainment and the place really comes alive late at night - lot of fun, not at all stuffy.

Tagine Dining Gallery on Ninth Avenue and 40th - pretty place with an excellent wait staff - live belly dancing and other entertainment. Moroccan food - open till about 2am

Le Madeleine on the corner of 43rd and Ninth serves a good three course prix fixe dinner for $32.- Even better value - 3 course dinner after 8pm - $24. Guitar player takes requests. Nice back room

You are better off heading off to the Village or Soho for late night eating. That's the area of the city that stays open late.
Check with Zagats for restaurants, they will have times listed, and restaurants by areas.
