Than seeing your dog eat his regurgitated meal?
Why do dogs do this?

It is pretty nasty but I was told once by a vet that they eat their...erm..."excraments" (poop, vomit, etc) because when fresh it still has certain nutrients that can still be used and that in nature wild dogs and other animals do the same thing...DOn't get me wrong- I still pull my dog away as fast as possible...ugh...

I really don't know what a regurgitated but if it's poop that means that your dog doesn't have enough nutrients don't worry my dog does the same thing. If it eats it's vomit thats normal all dogs do that even mine.

Yup- lots of stuff more disgusting. The one that comes to mind is a chocolate poisoned dog who was running out chocolate smelling diarrhea everywhere and we had to wear raincoats in the vet to take care of it- that is the grossest thing ever in my book.
Anyways, they barf usually because they have an upset stomach from a bacteria imbalance, or they just ate too fast and too much. Eating grass can cause them to vomit as well. Nothing to worry about unless they do it several times in a row.

Because unlike us they dont waste anything.... at one time in our history humans may have done the same thing, dont forget we are all animals. At least dogs dont eat deer penises with the hope that it will be an aphrodisiac.. they at least have a real reason behind the behaviour and that is waste not want not.
