I'm 13 and my mom says that i shouldn't lift weights. I don't do very strenuous exercise, just a little of each machine. She said that if i get muscles my height will not go up. she said to wait for my growth spurt until i lift weights. is she right????

Dude dont listen to these people. I have friends that have lifted weights, and the docs have proven to them that if they didnt lift when they were young, they would have grown taller. I'm telling you you're mom's not full of bologna like most people are basically saying.

no she is not. i bet if you google this topic you will find info to take to her. if you dont get much physical activity you can work out to replace sports and whatnot, but if you do that already, no need for extra weight training at your age.

That sounds so retarded. Maybe she's afraid you'll eat more. Keep working out.
