i just got my tongue pierced a couple days ago, and the little ball on the top it kinda screwed up cause i accidently bit it..and i was wondering, if i completely cleaned it and steralized another tongue ring, would it be bad if i changed it for no longer than a second..just this one time? until it fully heals in a coouple months?

Do not . I repeat do not do this on your own.

Go back to the salon that did the piercing and let them handle it chances are they have an after care program and will do it for free.

You do not want to put a cheap metal into a fresh injury.

You need pure metal alloys like silver or gold anything cheaper could lead to a serious infection.

Removing the ring / dumbbell before it is time will make it very hard to replace even if only for one second.

Go back to the salon/studio they will help you.

Ohh I reme, ber the day I got mine pierced!

Honestly I had the hardest time unscrewing, replacing and rescrewing the ring until 6+ months I had it. So for me it wouldnt have been a good idea. I would leave it alone, just make sure you keep doing the mouthwash thing.

If you messed up the ring bad enough I would call the piercing place and ask if you come in would they replace it, but I have a hard time believing you messed it up that bad!

I took mine out about a year ago and I have missed it every day, had it pierced about 6 years...just wasnt fitting in to my job!! No matter what good luck and make sure you keep it extra clean allways!!

If you're pretty sure that the ball on top is messed up/uncomfortable/coming off, GO TO THE PIERCER to have it fixed! You've only had it for a few days and you don't want to risk injuring the piercing more - it hasn't healed at all yet.

When I had my toungue pierced, a long time ago, they suggested I wait at least 1 month to a month and a half before changing or removing my tongue ring. I think it would be best for you to call or go back to your piercing parlor and they can help you take care of it.

Nope. If you absolutely need to have it changed, go to your piercer. This is not something you want to attempt yourself. Tongue piercings close up very quickly, and you can't properly sterilize anything without an autoclave.

If it's just the bead that's the problem, you can switch just the bead, but agian, your piercer should do this for you.

it only takes 2 weeks for it to heal if you change the barbell then your tongue will swell up over the ball just change the tongue ring ball not the hole thing till after 2 weeks when it is healed

I would go back to the place where you got it pierced. They should fix it for free. I had the same thing happen with my tongue ring (I apparently unscrewed it in my sleep and swallowed the ball). They were able to give me a new ball and put it on for me free of charge. I would be leary of doing it yourself. You don't want something to go wrong.

Good Luck!
