Very normal and very smart. Be proud of him and encourage him. I have a "busy" daughter (3)and as much as she can be a pain, I'd rather her have a personality and be active. I love her all the same. Enjoy him now, wait til he gets older!! (lol)
She had every right to brag, she's a proud mama!

My daughter was also very verbal at an early age. I joked that she was a genius, but I did wonder if she was advanced. At almost three years old, I took her to an assesment and her verbal ability was at a five year old level. She's very smart, indeed. A lot of people comment on her abilities, but they rarely take time to talk to her or listen to her. Most people don't take the time to listen to kids because they just assume there's nothing going on. Kids really understand more than most people think they do. If you are wondering about your son's ability, try having an assement done with a children's behavioral health provider. Take his strengths and run with it!

In constrast to my daughter's advanced vocabulary, she didn't take her first step until late in her 12th month. She doesn't climb and run as much as other kids her age. She's kind of awkward, too. Ballet classes are helping with that.

Cheers to you and your smart little one!

Just be proud of your little one, my son is 19 months old and can only say a few words. I worry a little bit because most kids his age says complete sentences. But the doctors say he is okay, because he understands well and recognize things. He will talk fully one day.
