ABSOLUTELY take uninsured motorists bodily injury & uninsured motorist property damage coverage. This is coverage FOR YOU in the event that you an uninsured or underinsured (one that has minimum limits) motorist causes an accident and you are injured. MANY people run around without insurance (they buy it for their registration renewal & then let it cancel) It is VERY inexpensive. What happens if you are a family member is seriously injured and the person that hit you is uninsured and has NO assets? What if you can never work again?? That is why you not only buy UMBI & UMPD but you buy HIGH liability limits and buy matching uninsured motorist coverage (I always suggest $500,000) because if you buy the minimum - say it is only $15,000/$30,000/$5,000 (depending on your state), you actually don't have the underinsured motorists coverage and where will it get you? A day or 2 in the hospital? Then what?? To me it is not worth the risk not to buy the coverage...

Geico. I'm telling you they are really good. Even though their commercials are cheesy.
