I'd do my best. That's all I could do.

I would win no question because you didn't dictate the circumstances but due to the fact you don't get paried up with "bigger" guys in competition (unless you are a heavyweight yourself which I'm not), I'm guessing this is a random fight.

The simple reason I would win is not because I am more skilled, or a better fighter (I certainly wouldn't be stronger or have better reach advantage), but because If its a big guy like that (big enough) then I can justify using a knife or jutte which I carry on me most places that I can.

Depends on how much he outweighs me though- oddly enough, the more he outweighs me, the more justification in the eyes of the law I have for using a weapon on him.

If he has a slight weight advantage then I wouldn't need to pull it out and then as you said, the guy is untrained and has no fighting experience- he is a "natural" fighter and lacks the ability (likely) to generate the same power as he would be punching only with arm power not with his entire body weight and power.

The simple truth is that in either case the untrained "bigger" man is at a disadvantage.

If you said unarmed, I would be at a huge disadvantage if the guy was that much bigger than me, regardless of training. The bigger the difference in size, the more skill and training requiered. I am not a professional fighter so I don't devote as much time to training as one would if they were and as such a pro or amatuer fighter would have a better chance to close the gap on the weight difference with superior skill.

This is why man invented weapons.

EDIT: one of the other guys mentioned something I usually mention- that comes with sparring. I probably sound like a broken record at this point by saying "resistance and training with fully resisting opponents" but that is what teaches you about pain, about what it really takes to use a technique in a given situation.

If I was forced to fight, I can tell you this much, I would still be alive and able to walk away at the end of the fight.
The martial art I practice is called kajukenbo, it was designed for street fighting. It doesn't matter that a person practices martial arts, in a real fight you will most likely get hit. Knowing how to take a punch, how it feels, is very important. Many arts no longer prepare their students for real life situations. In a real fight its not so much about winning, as being able to survive the confrontation and still be intact.

In my opinion, the fact that I had to fight means I already lost. However, if the scenario you describe was unavoidable, then it means that this man means to injure me and I would do whatever it takes to win. It helps that I have martial arts training, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't use a chair, bat, pool cue, or Sherman tank in order to win. In a fight, you use the tools that are available. The more tools you have, the better your chances. However, martial artists should focus on not getting into those situations.

Depends on the big guy. Just because one does not have extensive fight training does not necessarily mean he can not handle himself. I know a lot of tough *** guys that never fought simply because they were doing other sports that they were all ready good at and they would have made excellent fighters. And a lot of big guys are like gentle giants and they do not have that killers mentality, it is those small crazy guys that you got to watch out for.

well I am a big guy at 6'4" and 290 lbs and I dont going looking for fights so you wouldnt be in a fight with me !

In any fight you can be beaten irrespective of size - a knee to my balls, a thumb in my eyes, an outside knee kick - all can at least pause me in my spot

with a big trained guy you need to be aware of distance both because at the outside his jab and reach is longer than yours and on the inside he will possess greater body strength

I have done martial arts and other fight styles (boxing, wrestling) for 19 of my 23 years of age and can tell you fropm sad unavoidable experience that in a street fight the man that gets in the first head butt, eye gouge, ball kick or king hit from behind is likely to win!

why would i get into a fight with a big guy? that's just not very wise, big guys can hit hard regardless of wether they have training or not.

If i didn't have a choice, I'd keep my guard up, and work the big guys' legs. I train muay thai, so I can throw effective kicks.

Whens the last time you seen a 400lb fat back champ? (when you say big I think fat) Never! Every time I see a big man fight they always go down on the first punch. I THINK I could hit that big b**** straight on the chin and knock him out every time!..............I am strongly stressing the word THINK.

I would win because I would run away and the big guy would be frustrated because he did not hit me, and me I would be happy because I would not be hurt
