There are a number of circumstances that can skew the reason for your boyfriends quick declaration of love. How long have you know this fella? If you've known him for a while, then it is possible that he has had feelings for you for a while and has been falling in love with you for a while, which would make his declaration of love understandable and sweet. If you've just recently met him, then this declaration could be questionable. I've had many men announce their love to me within only a couple weeks. Some were genuine and some were just very clingy and ended up suffocating me. In the end, it just matters how you will respond. I suggest not repeating those words unless you actually mean them.

i am friends with a lot of guys who tend to say this too soon. he may be sincere, and get attached to quickly/easilly. he may just want to get in your pants. don't let it affect how you feel about him. most importantly, don't make the mistake of letting him go on not knowing how you feel about him. if you aren't sure yet, that's perfectly normal too. hey, it's only been a week. if that is the case, make sure he knows you're unsure. you need to be on the same page.

First of all, ask yourself this: Do I love him back? Don't think about your age, because love comes on its own time. If you feel that you don't have that deep of feelings for him at that time, tell him! Just say something like, "I'm really flattered, but I just don't have those deep of feelings for you right now. But I really like you." But if you really do love him, say it back! You've got nothing to lose. <3

go with your instinct a hundred percent. just try to work on the relationship a little first. it might just be infatuation, which happens oh-so-often with new relationships.

however, the same exact thing happened with my boyfriend and me and two and a half years down the road, we're still together. go figure.
