One time, when I was about 17, the pastor of the church I was going to was preaching a sermon that was to be aired on one of the local radio stations later on that day. At one point in the sermon, he was talking about how Satan tries to attack everyone with his "firey darts" (in other words, presents them with temptations to sin). Well, while he was saying this, instead of saying "Satan's firey darts," he said "Satan's firey farts."

His wife and daughter were in the congregation at the time, and thought it was funny. I honestly didn't catch that part. My mind must have been wandering off when he said that. It has a tendency to do that.

By the way, the person recording the sermon edited out the "firey farts" part before putting it on air.

That is petty funny. Some people refer to them as Freudian slips (named after Sigmond Freud), and believe they are subconscious thoughts that accidentally come to light.

Ones like the example you mentioned are not easy to pick up, but it is pretty funny when you do hear them.
