It got really drunk on St. Patrick's Day and I still feel like crap.

I mean, I'm feeling really good compared to what I felt like the morning after. But still, I get dizzy and I hate the sound of people talking or any other sound. I can't even turn on the TV cuz it gives me headaches!

Well, actually, I DID turn on the TV cuz I just couldn't miss American Idol, but my head was not feeling good.

Am I dying???

Your probably suffering sleep deprivation more than anything. When the brain is intoxicated with EtOH (ethanol) the brain is unable to reach the critical IV (4th) stage of sleep, aka REM. Even though a person passes out when they are drunk, the sleep they achieve is fruitless, and leads to sleep deprivation. The other symptoms of a hangover, headache, the shakes, bloating, etc usually subside in a day once the body has had a chance to equilibrate electrolytes and glucose levels, and all the metabolites (toxins) of ethanol and the impurities of whatever else was in the drinks have been excreted from the body.

Sleep deprivation usually will last 3 to 4 days after. Usually 3 nights of 8 hour sleep on a schedule will subside the symptoms of sleep deprivation.

I'll answer your last question first: YES (the journey started the moment you were born, or the moment of conception, depending on your beliefs)! Alcohol can have devastating effects on some people. Also, your immune system could have been weakened and you took to being ill soon after imbibing to excess. What have you been eating lately? Diet is another crucial part of the puzzle needed to help you heal. Drink some Gatorade to replenish precious bodily fluids and eat some fruit (bananas are good sources of some vitamins and nutrients your body needs right now).

I don't know the answer to your question but I can tell you one thing from my own experience. I never got drunk, I would get sick to my stomach and one time I passed out for at least 20 minutes where I could have been robbed or worse.
From then on my limit was two drinks and that was it. When I got married almost 60 years ago I just stopped. Have had no trouble since.
So my advice to you is to not drink alcohol, soda taste just fine.

I used to have 2 or 3 day hangovers all the time. I generally drank around 15 beers a night. It depended on how many joints or pills I took along with the booze also. You should try to drink as much water as you possibly can, and just try to take it easy for a bit. If nothing else works, drink a bunch more booze. It is really the only true hangover cure.

Just don't take JimStanleyDavis' advice. That would be a very "dumb" thing to do! Never take advice from a druggie/alcohoilc! Common sense would tell you that...
