I doubt there is a "who has the toughest test" competition going on. On any driver test, there will be no trick questions, all the questions are taken from information included in the driver manuel. As long as you know your basic driving laws, most can pass the test without problem. If you have trouble reading, you can request an oral exam.

I don't imagine that one state's test is harder than the next, since there isn't much of a difference between driving in different states. The major difficulty difference is between different types of license exams. It's much harder to pass a commercial driver license test than it is to pass a basic motor vehicle license test. The myth is that there's a written test. It's not a written test, it's a multiple-choice test. There is absolutely nothing to write. Not even your name. All you do is check the right box.
